Welcome to Spillbox.app. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile and desktop applications (the "App") and any optional services we provide alongside it. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We try to keep our legal jargon to a minimum. Here are the rules of the road.
1. Your Data and Ownership
You own your notes. We claim no ownership over the content you capture using Spillbox.app.
Because Spillbox.app is fundamentally a local-first application, your notes live on your device. This means you are solely responsible for backing up your data. We provide the tools to export your notes easily, but if you lose your device or uninstall the App without a backup, we have absolutely no way to recover your data for you.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes.
3. Third-Party Integrations
Spillbox.app allows you to connect to third-party services (such as Notion) to export or forward your notes.
- These integrations are provided "as is" and rely on the APIs of those third-party services.
- We are not responsible for the availability, security, or functionality of these third-party services.
- When you forward your notes to a third party, your data becomes subject to their terms and privacy policies.
4. Intellectual Property
While you own your notes, we own the Spillbox.app App itself. This includes its design, code, interface, branding, and underlying architecture. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy our proprietary code or design without our explicit permission.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
We built Spillbox.app to be reliable and fast, but software is inherently complex. The App and any accompanying services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be completely free of bugs or errors.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spillbox.app, its creators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, or data, resulting from your use of or inability to use the App. Again, please back up your data.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the App evolves. We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page when we do. Your continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
