Blind Capture

Sometimes the problem with capturing a thought is not that an app is too slow — it's that opening it shows you everything else you've already written, and you lose the thread before you even start.

Blind Capture is a startup option that opens Neo Nagare to a plain input screen, with none of your existing notes visible. You get a blank canvas. Type your thought, submit it, and close the app.

When it's useful

  • Morning journaling or brain dumps, where you don't want to be influenced by what you wrote yesterday
  • Capturing a thought quickly in a context where seeing your saved notes would be distracting
  • Situations where you just need to get something out of your head and move on

How to enable it

  1. Open the app settings
  2. Find App Home Page and tap on it
  3. Select Blind Capture from the options
  4. Apply the changes and the app will restart in Blind Capture immediately

You can switch back to the normal stream mode at any time from the same setting.

Auto-return to Blind Capture

When you enable Blind Capture, you can also choose to have the app return to that mode automatically after a period of app inactivity, e.g., when you switch to another app and then come back. You can set the inactivity duration from 0 to 60 seconds. This is useful if you want to make sure you always start with a blank slate when opening the app, even if you forget to switch back to Blind Capture manually.

Notes captured in Blind Capture

When you submit a note in Blind Capture, you will not see the note you just wrote, but you will get a confirmation that the note was saved. You can then close the app or switch back to normal mode to see the note in your stream.

Notes captured in Blind Capture are regular notes. They appear in your stream like any other note when you return to normal mode. Nothing is hidden or deleted.
